This new “Finger-picking” Method is dedicated to the study of a North American guitar technique that involves the right hand’s fingers and is characterized not only by unique rhythms and styles but, above all, by the essential role of “Alternating Bass.” Typically, a line of bass notes performed by the thumb, serves as the “Foundation” of the sound structure, while a melodic line—and, in some cases, additional harmonies played by the other fingers—are layered over it, creating an effect of multiple musical lines intertwining.
This technique is employed across various musical genres native to these regions: from Country to Blues, Folk to Ragtime, and “Contemporary Guitar.” The latter, while drawing on the previous styles, is characterized by modern compositions often influenced by Pop, Jazz, and Classical music.
The course includes eight progressive lessons, five of which focus on “Finger-picking” arpeggios, while the remaining three are dedicated to “Hammer-ons and Pull-offs,” “Harmonics,” and various guitar “Effects” used in this Method, with an emphasis on “Slide,” “Grace Note,” and “Bending.” Each lesson contains an appropriate number of exercises, followed by harmonic progressions and two compositions designed to make the learning and reinforcement of this technique more enjoyable. These lessons are then followed by a final Anthology featuring several compositions of varying difficulty, some of which use unique “Open” tunings different from the traditional one. (*)
The book is available in both a “Thread-bound” edition with a removable translucent dust jacket and a hardcover with elegant gold engravings, as well as in “Paperback.” Both publications contain 340 pages of coated paper, enriched with stunning original artwork created specifically for this project. They also include a USB card containing recordings of some of the most significant exercises from each lesson, followed by their harmonic applications and two final compositions, which, combined to those in the Anthology brings the total to 32 original pieces.
The volumes have been printed in a limited edition, and each copy bears a unique, sequential number alongside the author’s autograph.
Anyone who prefers the digital version of the Method over the printed one can download each lesson, harmonic progression, or piece individually as a PDF score or MP3 file from the “Sub-menu” options.
(*) Please note that the skills acquired through the study of this work may also serve as a foundation for learning other guitar techniques, such as those used in Bossa Nova and Jazz. In this regard, another publication by the same author is recommended, titled “Luiza…and other songs by A.C. Jobim,” available on this site in both print and digital versions.

On the “Download” pages, you will find recordings of exercises, harmonic applications, and pieces in MP3 format, as well as sheet music in PDF format, all organized by category.
Specifically, the MP3 files are divided into two categories: “MP3 Pieces,” which includes the 32 compositions from the Method, and “MP3 Exercises Lessons 1-8,” containing arpeggios, exercises, and harmonic applications.
For each piece, a free excerpt is available on the product page, allowing listeners to preview key moments of the tracks before adding them to the cart.
The same categorization has been applied to the sheet music in PDF format, which appears in sub-menus under the labels: “PDF Music Scores Pieces” and “PDF Music Scores Exercises Lessons 1-8 / Instructions.” Inside this same section, a ‘Compendium’ is also available, providing instructions to help with score comprehension.
Once one or more products are placed in the cart, they can be purchased via PayPal or credit card. After completing the transaction, links to the purchased files will be provided, allowing you to proceed with the download.
Please note: Each product has been assigned a sequential number that reflects the order of exercises and pieces in the printed version of the Method, starting from Lesson 1, progressing through Lessons 2/3/4/5/6/7/8, and concluding with the final Anthology. For example, by downloading all the PDF files, whether they are exercises or compositions, and grouping them in the same folder, they will be displayed in sequential order from number 1 to 42. Similarly, the MP3 files will be arranged in order within their respective folder.
